The club meets on Wednesdays at 7.30pm in the William Street Hall (The Lifeplus Church). The cost currently is £6.00 per evening, however the first session for newcomers is free. The next session will run from 24th September 2025 to the 17th December 2025 with a break on the 15th and 22nd October. The last night the 17th December is when we have a Christmas party with a buffet supper followed by the dancing. Then we will start again on 7th January 2026 and it will run through to the 25th March 2026, finishing with the annual sit down dinner.
The Blairgowrie Scottish Country Dance Club is the oldest Scottish Country Dance Club in Blairgowrie and has been going for nearly 80 years, it was founded in 1947. We are a very welcoming group, meeting in the Lifeplus Church Hall on William Street on Wednesday at 7.30pm. We have various social events to augment our weekly classes: a Christmas Party, and end of session Dinner Dance in March.
Our teacher is Alan Grant who walks the dances through several times using CD's for class nights. We would love to have you join us. If you are looking at this web site you are likely aware that Scottish Country Dancing ticks most of the boxes for a healthy life: it provides exercise; keeps you fit; it provides mental stimulation as well as the physical effort; it is inexpensive; it is very social and all ages and abilities can participate. All you need to do is turn up, partner not required!
